Wow. Just wow.

This book blew me away and I've already downloaded book #2 in the series.

Plot: 5*
Universe: 5*

If there is one thing I love in a book, it is when the universe of the story impacts the story itself. I love when things that normal authors shove into the background bully their way into the foreground to shout, "LOOK AT ME!" If the author is going to perform worldbuilding of a fantastical environment, then don't just leave it there as background noise. Bring. It. Forth. This book does that in spades. The world itself is a player in this book.

Although certain aspects of this book might have been a bit predictable, even those aspects were done in an organic way as the protagonist pieced things together

I grew to love them deeply and I shall miss them. I wish that I could read this book, and its predecessor, again for the first time.
